FAQ/FAC (frequently asked questions, frequently asked concerns)

If I volunteer, am I giving up my chance to worship?

No. Volunteers are our biggest asset and we want to keep you happy.

You pick the service you are most comfortable volunteering. We work around your schedule. If you are committed to volunteering a month on and a month off, two weeks on and two weeks off or a unit on and a unit off, we support you and will work with you. If you attend 9:30 traditional or a Bible Study and would like to continue, volunteer Son City at eleven and vise versa.

I am not sure I have time or I am not sure I want to commit to an entire service on Sunday.

We have volunteer positions that take as few as 30 minutes (registration desk 9:00-9:30 on Sunday Mornings, etc.) or volunteering during the week (Crafts/Stage Props, etc.) Again, we work around your schedule.

If I volunteer, I would be giving up Family Time.

Son City is a great way to get the entire family involved. This year we have several Husband/Wife Small Group teams, Praise/Worship Teams, Best Friend Teams, etc.

My kids would be uncomfortable with me in Son City.

Not really, most kids love to see their parents (No matter what they tell you!) and it shows them that they and their spiritual well being is important since you are taking time to be there. Also, remember that you do not have to volunteer in your child’s small group; there are other volunteer positions available.

I can’t/don’t want to teach.

Son City is not all about teaching. There are several open volunteering areas. If you have a spiritual gift/talent/idea that is not listed, call us. We can discuss it. There is a place for everyone in Son City.
